If I stop the medication that made me incredibly fat (and kinda changed my facial features), how long until I go back to normal?

Hi everyone! So, due to bad food choices and developing the nasty habit of binge-eating recently in the last two years, I have gradually, steadily gained weight but it wasnt very perceptible for a long time.

Then my therapist changed my medication (anti-psychotic) and I gained between 5 to 10 more kilos in a short amount of time, which completely destroyed my face. I now have a deluxe double chin with bloated cheeks, a more round shape versus more ovale before.

It’s hard to estimate exactly how many kilos I gained following this change in medication because I didn’t weight myself at the time, until people at work started asking me if I was pregnant and openly telling me I had gained weight. (Which, you guessed it, was the wake up call to me)

During lockdown I did IF for two months and lost 7 kilos but there hasn’t been any changes in my face or belly fat for that matter. I compare pictures from before vs now and there is NO changes.

Im thinking that this medication really did something to my face, otherwise I can’t understand why I’d lose kilos but remain looking fat in the face / belly when I looked like my normal self like 6 months ago.

I have been talking with my therapist about gradually stoping my medication (I am in a better place mentally now, yay!) but I’m afraid that I’ll remain round-faced for the rest of my life.

Do you have any experience with gain weight due to medication? What about when you stopped that medication? What should I expect?

I am doing a mix of IF (at least 16 hours) and counting calories (starting today) and aiming at 1200 (I don’t exercise).
