Week 1 - CW -140 GW-120

First post!

I plan on keeping track of my progress as a way to stay motivated and accountable. This is week one of my progress posts to keep track of this "journey"...

A little background on me. I have always been relatively thin but over the last year i've gained about +/- 20 lbs partly due to health reasons, partly because I "let myself go" . 10lbs of that was over the last 4 months!

I'm a distance runner but started pretty much from zero two weeks ago due to the fact that I had to take over 7 months off.

Right now I'm working on a 10k program and then plan on starting a half training program to run one this fall and get back into it. THEN if all goes well I want to train for a marathon, it would be my first in 10 years so its a pretty exciting prospect :)

Exercise and resting calories are tracked using my apple watch.

Food this week was tracked in Myfitnesspal and measured by volume.

Exercise schedule this week

Run : 4x 30-40 minutes (5km)

Walks : Daily 30-60 mins (and one 2.5 hour walk on the weekend)

Yoga (ashtanga and yin) :2-3x 30-60 mins

Meals

I eat pretty much the same thing daily.

I fast 16 hours - 8pm-12pm

Have a medium sized lunch. Lots of veg and some protein and grains.

A few low-cal snacks (loving frozen greek yoghurt bars from Costco, apple and almond butter, hummus and veg)

Dinner is a huge salad with a roasted sweet potato, a protein and low cal dressing.

Usually have a 100-200 cal snack a couple hours later.

For food I go for volume so LOTS of vegetables and high fibre choices.

The fun stuff

This week total burn 14153calories

This weeks total calories 9224calories

Expected loss : 1.4lbs

Actual loss : .8lbs

Reasoning

Food measuring : I've ordered a food scale on Amazon that's coming on Sunday because I have a feeling I'm eating more than I've recorded.

Slight muscle increase / inflammation : 6 weeks is the normal time after you start exercising for muscle to re-adjust and stop holding onto excess water. This could account for some of the additional weight. ...I'm 2.5 weeks in now, that another 3.5 weeks I can use this excuse 8-)

Hormones : bloating. Thank you mother nature, I love it.
