I just hit a major milestone. As of this week for the first time in 8 years I am no longer obese.
For the past couple of years I have tried a couple of half-assed attempts at losing weight. These would make me drop a couple of pounds. But after a couple of weeks I would slowly start gaining it back.
Here's what I did to finally and seriously start to lose weight:
In February after clocking in at 258 lbs I decided to make a change. At first I just stopped drinking soda, start eating healthier and do 20-30 minutes of exercise a day. This made me drop drop the first couple of pounds.
Then in March lockdown happened and I decided to start taking losing weight more seriously. I've been doing CICO eating 1500 calories a day. I've also been doing IF only eating between 12 PM and 7-8PM. This generally means I eat lunch have some fruit as a snack in the afternoon and end with eating dinner.
Another change that I made in comparison to earlier attempts is changing how I see a cheat day. In the past when I would have cheat day I would just eat what I wanted and end up eating maybe 3000+ calories. Now instead of a cheat day I have I cheat meal maybe once every 2-3 weeks. I do this by preparing for it and knowing exactly what I'm going to eat. So I''l have a light lunch and for dinner I'll order pizza or something. This way my total of that day is maybe somewhere around 2000-2500 calories.
And now after a couple of months and losing 40 lbs I've hit the halfway mark and am no longer obese.
