[SV] Introduction/Halfway to Goal

Hello All! I am new to this subreddit but so far love reading everyone's stories and find it supper motivational.

I've been steadily gaining weight for the past five years and this past summer weighed in at my new doctor's office at 200 pounds. My family tends to gain as we age and a few of my family are diabetic/pre-diabetic so I wanted to start losing weight before it got more difficult. I started working out 3 days a week and after a few months slowly moved to 5/6 days a week for 1-2 hours (half runing/core/HIIT and half weight lifting). I found out I was allergic to wheat so I shifted to more meats and veggies (with rice), introducing protein bars and shakes as well. I still eat junk food (I want to avoid being too strict with my diet so I don't yoyo my eating habits so much) but when I can I reach for an energy bar or dried fruit instead of chocolate. Every now and again when I feel myself getting into bad habits I use intermittent fasting (~14 hours for like 5 days), start drinking coffee, or go to a new exercise class/trainer just to switch it up.

I've been working really hard not only to lose weight but to approach it with a healthy mindset and treat myself with love (try to not judge myself when I slip) and I just hit my halfway point (30/60 pounds). Although sometimes I feel insecure about the weight I haven't lost yet I've begun to notice that I carry myself differently. I am proud of the progress that I've made and feel so much more confident in myself, not only my size but the strength I've gained through this process (I used to not even be able to do a push-up).

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I look forward to hearing your stories and going through this journey together!
