Weight drops after a night of drinking?

So I guess it's not really a problem but I just don't get how it works and I thought maybe someone knows. Basically I almost never drink alcohol because I don't really like most alcohol and it has a lot of calories. Now when I do, everytime I weigh myself the day after the number on the scale drops. I used to think it was because of dehydration and that the next day it would go up, but that never happens. It seems that alcohol (mostly beer) breaks a plateau. I guess my question is how does this work? This has happened up to 5-6 times now and I am pretty sure that besides the drinking I haven't made any changes to my diet those days.
