My thyroid might be sabotaging me.

Over the years, I’ve packed on a lot of weight. In the last year, my weight has really shot up. I wasn’t eating the best, but definitely wasn’t eating the worst. I hate how I look in the mirror and no matter how hard I try, the pounds won’t drop. I’ve changed how I’m eating and hit the gym every night for at least 30 minutes and rotate between running and muscles. On top of that, I’m binge eating less because a medication I was put on suppresses my appetite. But after a month, nothing has changed and it’s becoming so frustrated.

Thyroid problems run in my family and I never really thought about it until my dad mentioned my grandma having to take thyroid medication around 20, like myself. I’ve been having a lot of problems with anxiety, sleeping, feeling cold and being tired. I coughed this up to some anxiety, but these are all symptoms of a messed up thyroid.

Has anyone else had a problem with their thyroid causing them to gain weight and not being able to lose it? It’s so frustrating. I’m getting my blood work done Tuesday to hopefully get this sorted out.
