Weight Loss for Everyone: Counting the calories even when I overeat has helped so much.

Counting the calories even when I overeat has helped so much.

I've been counting calories every day since the new year began. I've done calorie counting in the past and it helped me drop my initial 60lbs. I gained 30 back and now I'm starting all over again. I'm trying to be more sustainable about it this time, so instead of trying to do 1300cals, I'm doing 1700-2100 and exercising at least 4-5 times a week. I've lost 8lbs in January so far.

As far as going over my calorie limits, I've only done so dramatically 2 times so far. It's agonizing putting those calories into MyFitnessPal knowing that it's going over my limit. But that being said, the first two times I clocked my calories at 2560 and 2238. And today, when I felt like I was going to lose control and eat everything around me (I literally ate scoops of peanut butter, like wtf?) I stopped at 1913. I've gotten better at stopping myself because I didn't just let myself have those days and not log them, which would have set a bad habit. Like it doesn't count if I don't count it.

Not to mention! I'm 5'6'' and 28. I calculate my TDEE as my desired weight (170 right now) with moderate exercise and maintenance calories with those stats is 2353. So even when I'm overeating by my calorie limit standards, I'm probably still good to lose weight.

I really can't thank CICO enough for what it does as a tool to help, so long as you really use it with practiced discipline and make it work for you.
