Hello! I'm considering trying Contrave and one thing I'm trying to better understand is about the guidance: "...CONTRAVE should not be taken with a high-fat meal...". I gather this is due to it being long release medication and high fat messes with that.
My questions are:
- Does this just mean the meal/food you eat when you take Contrave?
- So, like an hour or longer later, you could eat anything? Or does it mean in general that it is best to skip high-fat meals all the time because it's a long release medication?
- What constitutes a 'high-fat' meal?
- An egg can be considered high in fat, but in terms of a meal... that's like one hardboiled egg and lots of low fat other food like oatmeal, would that still make it 'high-fat meal'?
My go-to, favorite meal on a Sunday is two eggs (over easy), bacon, home fries w/onions, and rye toast. I'm betting this counts as a high-fat meal, and I shall miss it so... but maybe I can wiggle it in now and then w/enough delay between taking the medication and eating. Or if I have to give it up, then I'll adjust and find something to enjoy.
Thanks!
