Lower dress size - what worked?

Hi Everyone, long time lurker here I'm F/35/5'5/148lbs and 10 months post partum.

I have a question for women who reduced their dress size - what worked for you? I'm assuming I will get a lot of answers that include weight training - which is good. But I'd like to know if you put yourself in a 500 cal/ day deficit. Or did you eat at maintenance and focus on protein and go hard at the gym?

Long story short - for the last 3 months I'm eating on average about 1,800 cals a day and doing lots of walking with my baby (avg 11,000 steps a day) and doing Electro Muscle Stimulation Training (EMS) once a week (it's awesome and I'm really happy with it).

But my dress size isn't moving and I'm unsure of the best course of action.

Before I start to fully dedicate myself to a daily cal intake of 1,600 I wanted to ask if it is better to eat more and add another full body workout in the gym. I really don't do well with drastic cuts - I am very cranky and just end up binging.

I don't care about my weight - I just want to drop 3-4 dress sizes. Any advice / tips on how to get there efficiently is much appreciated!
