Today I had such an awful, stressful day at work and came home fuming. And guess where I was next? In my pantry, eating any snack I could get my hands on. I will admit I have been able to tone down my stress eating since college which has helped me lose weight. But every once in a while, I get very stressed or upset and food is the first thing I turn to.
The obvious solution to my stress eating is “don’t buy snacks,” which I get, but I don’t think it is sustainable long-term to deprive myself of foods I like. I do a pretty good job overall of keeping things in moderation, but every once in a while i overeat and feel regret afterwards. I want to be able to find other things to turn to when I’m stressed, so my mind doesn’t turn directly to food.
