Weight loss plateau

I am 19 years old 5’7 and am currently 165 lbs I started at 215 at the beginning of the year. I have been eating about 1600 calories a day for about 5 months and my maintenance is about 2500-2600 calories. I have been stuck at 165 pounds for about 2 weeks, I recently just went back to school which added about 6,000 steps to my normal I also have gym two days of the week which we do intense physical activity, such as football etc. which does leave me pretty sore, could my weight plateau be caused because of the increase in physical activity? Before school I would workout for about 30 minutes on the treadmill everyday and rarely missed a day but like I previously said I’ve probably added about 6000 steps a day on top of the physical activity from gym. I just don’t understand how I can be eating 1600 calories a day and not lose weight.
