I really like creating small special moments for myself but I recently realised they are all connected with food. Like baking a cake in my free time just because I like baking (and eating, haha), or watching a favorite movie with a glass of wine and a snack, or having a special breakfast on my day off, etc.
I’ve been trying really hard to intuitive eat and listen to my hunger cues lately, and it’s (surprisingly) working, which also made me realise that I’m not hungry when eating these special snacks and I don’t really want to eat them. I only do it because that’s my way of treating myself.
But the thing is that I love these little moments because they make my life feel special, so I don’t want to lose them entirely, I would just like to find another way of “special” that isn’t connected with food which I don’t even want to eat.
I’m sure I’m not the only one experiencing this, so I would appreciate an insight from others who have gone through something similar. I mostly found suggestions to buy something special, but I feel like I’m already buying too much, so I don’t want to go down that road. Also, buying something won’t make a movie night any more special like a yummy snack would. Maybe I just need to rewire my brain so it won’t consider snacks as something special, but I don’t know how to do that.
