So I am a male, 5'9". I started my journey last year on July 2020 at 80kg(176lbs) and over the course of a few months I shredded to 74kg(163lbs). Strength training and eating 1600 calories. No Cardio.
I stalled got busy then I went back up to 80kg(176lbs) on Christmas lmao.
I then shredded again eating 1500calories to 75kg, stalled for a while and then adjusted and ate 1300cals, shredding lower to 72.8kg(160lbs). This felt unsustainable and I was always hungry. So I adjusted back.
I had a family vacation and got back up to maybe about 78kg(171lbs) and then dieted again back to 74kg-75(163-165lbs)eating 1300cals and cant go lower. This time I even tried cardio, trying to do 5000-8000 steps, hypertrophy training 4x a week and doing elliptical cardio 1-2x a week for 30-60mins on my off days. Been doing this almost consistently for 3 months with no changes.I sleep 5-8 hours/ day on most days though.
I'm trying out a diet break and increase my cals up by 300 and my weight didn't change as well.I know I've been yoyo dieting but I should've at least see some more progress with what I've been doing the past 3 months. I haven't gained much muscle or lost much fat. I eat 110-140grams of protein/day. Just maintaining. So now I'm just confused on what to do.
I'm eating 1500-1600. Are those my maintenance calories since I'm not losing or gaining weight? That feels too low to be maintaining. Any advice on how to move forward?
