I would like to present the 'Carbohydrate-Insulin Model', which looks to link dietary composition (what we eat) with impacts on metabolism and body composition, regardless of calorie intake.
I struggle to find a post on here without one 'helpful' commenter saying something to the effect of "it's just calories in vs. calories out" (aka the energy balance model).
I find these sorts of comments unhelpful for people who learnt this lesson a long time ago, but still struggle with weight. They also lead to shaming people as 'lazy' or 'ignorant' of the amount of food they're actually eating.
We're all on here because we're either on a journey to lose weight or wanting to start. I would like to propose a push for a more supportive subreddit. It's great if that's what worked for you, share your experience! But don't put others down because their struggle doesn't align with your personal experience.
And please remember that 'science' is an ever evolving study and that we still know so little in the grand scheme of things. Your 'knowledge' can turn into ignorance when you treat it as gospel.
