So I’ve been losing weight mostly with diet and cardio over the last year or so and I’m getting close to my goal weight and at a point where I’m incorporating more strength training. I get the importance and why it helps with weight loss and all that… but I’m biking/running for 30 mins to an hour every day for cardio and I don’t know if that is more useful to be hitting legs with strength training.
Right now I alternate cardio and lifting days. On cardio days I bike/run for an hour and row for a half hour and my legs are dead afterwards. On lifting days I bike/run/row for 45-1 hour and hit my lifts. I’m worried about slightly overworking my legs doing both and hurting my cardio overall since I know that leg day and the day after I won’t be able to do as much.
So I guess my question boils down to if I’m working my legs enough in my cardio, is that enough to make up for not lifting them?
(Once I get down to my target weight, I’m going to shift to mostly strength training and will definitely hit legs hard, just wondering about right now while I’m still cardio focused)
thanks for any help!
