Hi guys I am new to the community and this is my first post so don't be to hard on me I'm still on my weightloss journey and have much to learn(disclaimer before you read: please don't preach the keto diet I'm happy if it was helpful for your weightloss journey but it's not everyone's cup of tea and from my experience my body doesn't react well to it, it's lead me to binge)
I love love LOVE anything with high carbohydrate and sodium content. Sometimes I go a whole day just overeating carbs and protein, sometimes I'll sprinkle one fruit or vegetable in. I don't have a sweet tooth (never had a huge liking to candy, cookies, etc.) so I wonder if my body has a sugar addiction through the sugar in the refined carbs I consume in processed food, I'm new to this so I could have no idea what I'm talking about.
I think eating processed foods is what I struggle with most and is what packs on the pounds, I'm working on incorporating more whole foods in my diet and eventually cutting out processed foods. I feel this is the key to losing weight for me (no diets, no restrictions, just eating whole foods). I just have trouble finding good whole foods that can satisfy my salty tooth, craving for carbs and hefty snacking appetite. Snacking is my weakness and something I struggle with, meals are manageable. For snacks vegetables aren't sweet but they aren't salty either and I never feel satisfied enough after eating them. Nuts are also another option I have to curb the salty craving but I lose control when eating nuts and due to their high fat/calorie content they won't aid me in weightloss. I feel stuck and I'm wondering if people have any experience with what I am struggling with and what advice and wisdom you guys have.
I've heard of people suggesting to eat more fiber but fiber rich foods all taste like cardboard and sadness, is there a way I can get more fiber by not having to eat fiber rich foods?
