I am down roughly 90 pounds since January. I’ve been putting off going through my closet, but I recently hit my first goal weight and thought now was the best time to finally do it.
It’s so strange how we don’t recognize changes in our body when they’re made slowly over time. On the one hand, I can tell I’ve lost weight, but it doesn’t really register as that much mentally. I still have more I want to lose. But trying on clothes I couldn’t even fit into nine months ago and watching them sag and hang off me was really an eye opener.
I’ve gone from 42 -> 36 waist, XXL -> L shirt, and 52 -> 46 jacket size. Trying on old blazers actually had my wife and I giggling at how ridiculous they look - I couldn’t even button them at the New Year! Guess I’m asking for clothes for Christmas.
Question for the group: what do you do with old fat clothes? I put them in storage but I’m too superstitious to get rid of them. My dad is pushing me to “burn the ships” and take them to Goodwill. How have you approached it?
