Your always one decision away from a totally different life.⭐ At over 107kg I started Living a healthier life by making small achievable goals become long lasting habits.
I did NOT start out with a gym membership. I did NOT start eating a set meal plan or fad diet. I did NOT know all the answers or have all the resources BUT I knew that I believed in myself enough to realise I needed to find a way to start making healthier habits in my life. 1. I said to myself whilst on maternity leave at some stage during everyday I wanted to either go for a walk or do some form of physical activity. It could be 20 minutes or an hour depending on what I could fit in around my daughter at the time. I then started writing a shopping list for the supermarket so I wasn’t buying excessive treats (then wouldn’t be tempted at home in the pantry which helped allot when I started out). Another simple change I made was to swap all drinks including juices, alcohol and soft drink for just water or milk in my coffee. This is something I now still do unless I have the occasional wine or Pepsi max. Meals I did not overcomplicate. I did not start a diet of overwhelm myself. I found however keeping a food journal soooo beneficial! I would write down what I ate during the whole day. This considerably helped and made me think about what I was putting in my mouth 👄. After applying all these changes to my daily routine at home, after 4 weeks I had lost 4-5 kg and started to feel amazing from the inside out. When people ask me what motivated me to keep going and losing weight, my answer is- my results fuelled my determination to keep going. I started getting quicker at moving my body, I started getting stronger both mentally and physically & more importantly I felt the happiest I had been in a long time simply by putting in the work!
