Should I lose weight through strength training to possibly avoid loose skin?

Hi,

I have been on a weight loss journey for a bit of time (on and off). I haven’t really been successful in it due to personal reasons. But I have started again with a better mental mindset. I’m 5’2, 28F, and weight 209lb. I would like to be about 120lb-130lb (closer to 130 is what I feel comfortable with 125lb?). My biggest fear is loose skin. I hate my body as it is and idk how I feel about loose skin. I understand we won’t know until I get there. Anyways, I read a while back that strength training would help a bit with combating loose skin. I think it was more so to tone the body. If I’m wrong with my info, I truly apologize. If I did some days of strength training and some hiit workouts, do you think it will help with the loose skin? I also want to make sure I do this not super fast. So about 1-2 lbs off a week. Will strength training speed up my metabolism too fast where I lose more than 2 pounds a week? I’m all new to to this.
