Losing and gaining weight?

27M, 6”3, with an office job….target weight is 224 pounds.

My initial goal is to get under 280 pounds it’s my first milestone. And it seems no matter what I do I physically can’t - whenever I get close my body inexplicably just puts weight back on even in a heavy deficit?

Following this page for a while and enjoy reading some of the success stories that are posted!

So I started a month ago on the 14th June at 302 pounds eating 1800 calories a day and doing insanity.

Lost 10 pound the first week - obviously water weight.

Lost another 3 pound by the 25th of June. And 4 more by the 2 July.

Then I noticed my weight was fluctuating a lot, I put a couple of pounds on and then lost them 2 days later and then put them on again. Got to 283 on the 9th July.

Weighed a few days later - back up to 286, so I cut my calories to 1500 to regain the ground I’d lost and got back to 282 for last week. But exercise dwindled with lack of motivation due to the weight being so inconstant.

Weighed a few days back and I was 281, Then weighed today for my weekly weigh in (I only track Friday weigh ins but weigh throughout the week to see how I’m doing) and I was 283 again so the week ended as a +1. I’ve also resorted to just doing weights a couple days a week atm but my commute to work is around 35 mins one way if I wakes so that might be something to start doing for “free” cardio?

Has anyone got any insight into what I’m doing wrong? Is 1500-1800 calories not a good enough deficit?

Cheers!
