Weight gain on 1200 calories a day

So I’ve been on countless diets, recently I’ve been sticking to 1200 calories a day and walking 10000 steps. It’s been going great and I’ve lost 10 pounds, but the past two days I’ve gained two pounds. I just don’t get it. I’m not on my period and I have over 100 pounds to lose so 1200 is no where near my maintenance calories. WHY?! It’s just so frustrating and it’s the kind of thing that has sent me to ordering fast food in the past. I understand not losing weight every day but gaining two pounds just doesn’t make sense to me. According to google it could be hormonal, water retention, etc. I guess I’m just here to vent more than anything.
