This might be long, so hang in there, friends.
In 2019 I started using MyPlate as a calorie counting tool. I’m currently 270, and my GW is somewhere around 150. I WAS 230, but shoutout to an unchecked binge eating disorder and a global pandemic for the extra 40.
ANYWAYS, the calorie counting function of the app is just... not dummy friendly.
The daily calorie goal bar adjusts with calories burned through the day, and there are three readings below that bar: -Consumed -Burned -Net
For a while, I used the app to count my calories and hit my cal goal in the NET section.
Then I had an epiphany a few weeks ago.
Isn’t my net supposed to be -500 calories with consumed being the measure of hitting my goal?
(For example, 1500 consumed, 2000 burned, -500 net)
But the internet is so divided on this, that I have absolutely no idea what to use. The counting is not user friendly, but the tracking, food database, and layout are the best, and it’s the only counting app I’ll ever use.
Please help!
