2020 was crazy we’ve all been through the ringer. For me I was freshly 21, started nursing school, failed a couple classes, am working in the hospital, moved back home and then moved into a new house with my bf, got a puppy, figured out my anxiety wasn’t the normal kind, etc. I could go on and make lots of excuses but it comes down to the fact that I’ve developed some seriously unhealthy habits and gained like 25 pounds in the last year and a half. I’m a 5’4 female who now weighs 183 and am starting to feel uncomfortable in my clothes ugh.
Anyways it’s time to get my shit together and make 2021 my bitch for lack of better terms. Motivation is fleeting but I am absolutely determined to become a healthier version of myself. I joined a couple of challenges for the start of 2021 to really motivate me and get me going. I’m trying 75 hard (only on day 2) and my local running store has a 1 mile a day challenge. I find challenges like this motivating for my competitive and all or nothing personality type.
75 hard is a free challenge focused on mental toughness and is hard when I work 12 hours shifts, but I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile now and if you’re into challenges maybe look into it! It’s a little tough but the rules are vague and customizable so I make it work for me.
My other challenge is just walk or run 1 mile a day at least for my local running store where I paid to do it for a shirt and the chance to win some running shoes every week. Paid challenges are very motivating and the goal is totally realistic for me.
Basically the point I’m making is let’s win 2021 together and challenge ourselves in our own ways! Everyone’s path is different and goes at it’s own pace. I feel that we all can achieve great things this year and just wanted to put some suggestions and motivating words out there!
