Is it alright to sacrifice a bit of muscle mass while losing fat?

14M, 6’0”, SW: 230, CW: 223, GW: 200 (for now)

While losing weight, is it alright to sacrifice some muscle in order to lose weight? From where I’m at now, I think I need to prioritize losing fat for health reasons. This means that I am trying to eat a lot more greens. However, it also means that I might be missing out on the protein I previously got from big meals.

Is this alright? My plan is to focus on losing fat now and build muscle later once I reach my goal weight or lower. I’m not playing any competitive sports so my reasoning to do so is strictly for myself, not any athletic performance.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for low-calorie protein options, please share! Thanks! Also thanks for making this subreddit a great place, it’s helped me learn and stay motivated. :)
