It's not just a numbers game

To some extent losing weight is the right metric, but in reality and in our subconscious losing fat is what we all want. To look fit and be healthy you want to lose fat, not muscle.

Don't just diet and lose weight, include some form of exercise in your routine. For example

  • My cousin sister is dieting without exercise to look better in the next month for her marriage, no doubt she lost weight and looks much slimmer but at the cost of having loose skin around some parts of her body like the neckline
  • My brother is also dieting, but working out and god the difference between them is significant.

Also for folks who are working out whose components include building muscle, losing 5 pounds of body weight means you probably lost more than 5 pounds of fat while gaining some muscle, so please don't get discouraged.

Our goal is to lose fat while maintaining/building muscle. I strongly suggest everyone to work on muscle building and I don't mean everyone should get buff, I am personally working on building lean muscle which helps in preventing injuries in our day to day activities
