Earlier in the year, I had a scare with COVID. I was fine for the most part. Lost sense of smell, minor dry cough and not having full breathing capacity i.e. taking a really deep breath was laboured. Regardless, it was one of the few times I came to terms with mortality. After years of depression and stress, I've put on more than I'd like to think about. Last month, I decided to do something about it. I've completely weaned myself off of junk food (except sugar-free soft-drinks, which I did earlier this week). I purchased a Withings Smart Scale and I love it. It's like a game. Will I get a higher score than yesterday (well lower lol). I have also gone back to strength training which is an exercise I love. I am also walking >5 km a day on my off days. I don't want to run right now until my weight is back down to probably double digits in kilos so as to not damage to my knees. I feel a lot better already and the quality of my sleep has improved within a short time frame.
I have weighed myself at the same time every day for almost a month (after I've been to the bathroom when I've woken up). I'd love some educated opinion on the matter. Which average is more appropriate for tracking weight (mass) loss? I could take the data point with the previous six data points to get the past week average. Alternatively, I could take three previous data points and three next data points. So I could get middle of the week average
The horizontal lines represent a kilo difference. Also, am I stalling for the past week?
