I have lost over 100lbs. I am a woman in my twenties with two babies. I was a size 18 after baby #2. Down to a size 4. For the first time I am comfortable in my own skin. Soooo much changes in your life when you lose weight and live a healthier life. I’ve adopted healthy habits and found balance in my diet. When I’m laying in bed it’s so much easier to find a comfortable position. My legs don’t chafe together when I’m walking in shorts anymore. I don’t hide my body under baggy clothes. I’m proud of my body and thankful for all that it provides me. I’m more confident and less quick to compare myself to others. Im not afraid of the camera or gatherings that require swimsuits. Sex is even more enjoyable. My mental health has improved and I feel more secure in my relationship. My body needs to move. I crave it and seek out opportunities to be active. Long walks are enjoyable, not uncomfortable. I’m not short of breath from one flight of stairs. Being outside is the best. There are some things I miss but I’m never going back to that version of me. Build healthy habits and take the time to find a balanced life that works for you. If you want your changes to last you need to be realistic. Fact: I am never giving up ice cream. Is not realistic for me to say I’m giving up my favorite food but it IS realistic and attainable to say I will eat it less frequently and in appropriate portions. I will try healthier versions. It’s ok to indulge now and then. Not every night. You don’t need to ban yourself from certain foods you just need to find self control and awareness. Ask yourself “How does this support the life I’m trying to create?” It’s helped me put things into perspective and make healthy decisions. Crash diets and crazy work out routines might get you where you want quickly but they won’t keep you there if you don’t create new, healthy habits to nourish your body and mind. Drink some water and kick some ass today!
