hey everyone (:
so i fasted for 10 days about a week ago and jumped straight into keto, i basically ate only fish, meat, cauliflower rice and african foods such as okra (quite a lot) and shrimps etc with the addition of spinach. i don’t think keto is right for me, i feel good and i dont crave sugar whatsoever anymore or carbs but i just can’t keep eating meat and fats and buying all these alternatives and recipes that i cant stick to. i’m 19 turning 20 and overweight. my main goal is to stay healthy in and out, and to overall just lose the stubborn fat. i want to go on low carb but after reading the keto sub, things like berries and almond milk and veggies have to be eaten in moderation. i love fruit and veggies more than ever now and i just want to be able to eat it without worrying about ketosis and all that, while losing weight. i’m familiar with cico and most of the foods i eat are african using ingredients that are low cal and portioned. should i stay on keto and be strict with carbs or would it be good to go low carb under 50g NC and still have my fruit (mostly blackberries and strawberries) and cereal (kashi). tired of eggs and meat all the time, i really miss refreshing foods.
another question, will insulin spike when eating fruits? maybe that’s dumb but i’m genuinely asking.
