Hi all,
Super long time lurker and first time posting (apologies if it's formatted weirdly).
So I've been on a bit of a health journey last few months, and due to Covid19 quarantine coming into effect in Melbourne Australia in March, I decided to use that time to work on my mental and physical health.
I've done well and I've lost my first 20 kilos through just eating healthier (and basically not eating take out three times a day everyday).
I started at 145 kilos at the start of March (height is 165 cm, 32 female, non smoker and no severe health conditions), and currently at 125 kilos (although my main goal is a change to an achievable healthier lifestyle rather than "numbers", but of course that still matter to try and get down to a healthier weight).
However I've really struggled trying to do exercise or find workouts that will work for me.
In the past I've lost alot of weight however I was smaller then and found exercise easier to do. I had alot of success with Zumba and Long distance running training, but at the moment I found I'm just physically limited.
Unfortunately I am still currently very obese and aside from walking each day (about 30 mins a few times a week), due to my size and lack of flexibility, I just physically can't do crazy intense cardio or crazy workouts.
I've tried searching online however only found Gym memberships (gyms are closed atm due to a second wave of covid 19, quarantine has been enforced again), and even articles that supposedly come with workouts for "obese people" are still very difficult (positions etc not achievable).
I also cannot stand YOGA (sorry I am not flexible enough, and I've just personally found it doesn't work me, and I do not have the concentration for it).
I did have a referral for an exercise physiologist through my GP, but they have been closed, and until the pandemic situation have settled, I don't know if I really wish to go out of my place.
I know it's a big ask, but If anyone can help link to some exercise programs, videos or even recommendations based on your own experience, I'd greatly appreciate it. Or even advice.
Cardio and breathing wise, I am actually ok (I've always found cardio easier), but due to joints and body size, its difficult and sometimes painful.
In the future I'd love to be doing some great fitness goals (run a mini marathon, do obstacle courses and get back into martial arts), but I need help in getting started.
