I’m new here and need some advice!

So to preface, I’m a 24 year old female 5’6 and 217.3 lbs. I’m diabetic and my most recent screening left me unhappy. Blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol were all high so I cut down on carbs and red meat and started eating more fruits and veggies. I also made the decision to stop drinking 11 days ago because alcohol is only making things worse for me.

ANYWAY, now at today, somehow I have gained weight since my diet. I’ve been exercising when I can (30 min walk/jog with my dog in the morning when I get off work) I’m in school and working full time so it’s hard to find time to sleep and exercise lol. Will be done with school in 3 weeks though so I can fix that soon!

I thought when I stopped drinking, and started eating better, and exercising the pounds would just come off, but I’m left feeling defeated bc I’m putting on pounds :( Any advice to a newbie trying to turn her life around?
