50/M in process of the "journey" to lose 150 pounds. Not my first rodeo as I lost over 100 pounds about 6 years ago, but gained it all back after a prolonged illness and medication ('roids).
I figure the bigger you are/more you weigh, you lose weight faster when you first start out (water weight), but it seems my progress is slower then the last time I lost weight, but that is probably a misconception on my part.
This time around my workouts consist mainly of weight lifting, which is different from last time where I emphasized cardio. Just from this short period of time, already seeing a dramatic difference. So, I'm thinking that because muscle mass has increased, that could be the reason why the numbers on the scale are not falling as fast. Clothes are looser. Already went 2 notches down on belt without having to pull/fight it tight. Waist in the (high) 30s for the first time in years.
As I look at the scale, I realize that I no longer need to lose 150. I know need to "only" lose 120.
Consistency, consistency, consistency.
