This morning I went to the local convenience store to get a coffee! It was a treat. I got a grande: 8 ounces of hot chocolate (150 calories), 20 ounces of coffee (6 calories), 3 International Delight single creamers York Mint (90 calories) for a grand total of 246 calories! But if I would have had a 28 ounce generic holiday mint Cappuccino it would have been 513 calories! So I saved 267 calories and did enjoy the coffee just as much.
I try really hard not to drink my calories. But a treat once a week or so isn't so bad - rarely do I drink coffee. I'll just have to watch it for the rest of the weekend and up my walk time. Calories from liquids sure can add up so I try really hard to just drink water, unsweetened ice tea or I add lemon or lime juice to my water. Last time I drank a Diet Coke was March 17th - it was my favorite drink of all times! Years ago I gave up Tab for Diet Coke!
I believe nothing is off limits in my eating plan but I do have to be honest about what I consume. I logged it!
So how do you handle incorporating treats into your eating plans? Also, how do you feel about consuming "liquid" calories like this? Just thought I would get other opinions and ideas.... I have 13.4 pounds to get to goal so I'm trying to be conscious of eating right moving more. It's all about balancing calories in and calories burned! So what do you do/think?
Have a safe and fun Holiday weekend.... 😁
