Today was Day 1 of my journey.

I am Male 41 years old, 6'2'' weighing 456lbs.
I am at my heaviest ever. Presently, crossing the street is exhausting.My lower back hurts so much from carrying all this weight. Standing is painful. Playing with my kids is just not possible. My oldest (7) finally learned to ride her bike but it was not because I was running next to her while she learned to balance herself. I am proud that she truly taught herself !! But it speaks to my failure as a dad for not being able to help her.

My 42 birthday is coming up and as a present to myself, to my wife and my 3 children, I am changing myself for the better, changing my lifestyle. Rebooting myself -- I guess.

I have at least 200 lbs to lose.

I just wanted to put this out there for everyone to see. I have tried to get healthier countless times and have failed every single time. This time it is do or die ... I would even take that literally.

I have tried the CICO method but that just did not work for me. So this time, I am going for the One Meal Per Day type of Intermittent Fasting for two reasons:

1) It allows me to have a meal where I eat until full without limiting myself of anything ( except for empty calories like bread, pasta and food with added sugar )

2)The Intermittent Fasting will train me to not turn to food when bored. I have made food something I have for comfort. The hope here that IF will change this mindset and make me find other ways to cope with boredom and other more emotional moments.

It is not going to be easy but then again, nothing worthwhile ever is.
