Hey guys, I would really appreciate any suggestions. I posted this elsewhere and it was removed for violating rules. Now I feel even worse.
I struggle with emotional eating, among other mental health issues. I've successfully lost 30+kg in the past, but ended up gaining it all back plus more and I've come to realise emotional/disordered eating is my real issue.
I was successful in the past by falling in love with the process and meticulously logging my food and exercise, but I can't seem to get back to that. After a month or so, I slip, binge, hate myself, and fall right back into terrible habits.
I'm currently on a long waiting list to see a therapist, I know I have issues that I need professional assistance with, but in the meantime I'd really love to find resources like books and podcasts that can help me to understand the mechanisms of this disordered eating and keep me motivated and moving in the right direction.
Each time I try to find these resources it's a minefield of HAES/IE stuff basically just telling me to give up and stay fat and miserable. I feel like I'm banging my head against a wall trying to find anything that's actually helpful.
If anyone has anything to share I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
