Should I buy a food scale?

Hey everyone! Well, after 3 years of unsustainable and useless fad dieting, I'm back to CICO and MFP. This is my third or fourth time with tracking on MFP, I would always get pissed off at the app and uninstall it when I fell off the wagon LOL.

Although there were times that I did well with MFP, looking back I see that maybe just using measuring cups and spoons weren't enough. I especially had some issues with guesstimating a serving size of ground beef or chicken breast. I'm sure my portions were too big. Since I really want to succeed with CICO once and for all I'm seriously thinking about buying a food scale. But what should I be using it for besides measuring servings of meat? Aren't measuring cups and spoons sufficient to do CICO?

My other big concern is that I'm going to get anal about using this thing. I want a food scale to be a tool to help me succeed, not something to get obsessed about. If I allow myself to get obsessed over weighing and measuring my food that's going to set me up for eventual failure.

So...yes or no on the food scale? And I'm so glad to be back to the sub and back on the path to healthy weight loss!
