Ugh I just moved in with my mother in law temporarily last Friday. I’m going to be staying with her for about another month and I’ve already gained five pounds back, after losing 20 this year. I’m unemployed right now, so I’m home constantly. All day long she and other people here ask me if I’ve eaten, and tell me I should eat more, or offer me food that’s really tempting and yummy. When I was living with my partner only it was really easy to avoid tempting food because we just didn’t buy it. Now, it’s everywhere and just laying on the counter. I told them I was trying to lose weight and watch what I eat, so now they just talk about it all the time. Hearing that I’m “watching my weight” and “watching what I eat” from other people talking about me is just weird and hard for some reason. I want to be able to diet and eat well without anyone noticing or commenting about it because it’s healthy. Side note: I hate how unhealthy portions and food have become such a norm that healthy eating is looked down upon or seen as strange. But anyway, since moving in I’ve gone from 172 to 177 so that’s five pounds.... which is bumming me out and making me feel so unmotivated. Any advice on how to maintain my diet without being weird about it around my mother in law?
