If I had taken the longest long way, I'd be there already

I have been obese my whole life. Haven't been under 200 since 19 or so.

I ate like shit growing up with the rest of my family. Never exercised, total nerd who loved reading and nothing involving activity (still same.) When I got to college, I tried the early 2000s keto known as Atkins diet and that helped me stay low 200s for like a year and I've been slowly up since then and then down and then up again, vascillating between 235 and 265. 285 at highest.

I've done tracking and keto and IF and WW and noom and vegan and vegetarian and paleo and the Mediterranean diet and soylent and slimfast and trying to stick to just portioned frozen meals and weight lifting and yoga and couch to 5k and swimming and that crazy pill with olestra or something that thankfully I quit before any of the side effects, lol.

And every time I start dreaming about going down 2 pounds a week and I map out my weight and it seems like so long to see a change and I give up after a few weeks. 3 months has been my max so far. And yet if I had lost only 1 pound a month and kept at it from when I first started dieting back in college, I'd have hit my goal weight a decade ago.

This is probably a stupid post. But I'm hoping if I really focus on how even 1 fucking pound a month would get me farther in 5 years than I've ever been... it'd just be such a huge impact. I can't even imagine what I'd look like if I was under 200 pounds. And it's been 17 years of trying and it seems so impossible but I'm going to keep trying.

Currently doing IF and WW for tracking. IF has been the best at controlling my eating, honestly, along with tracking, so I'm going for that again. Here goes another try. If you have any words of encouragement, I'm all ears. Here I go again.
