Does anyone here have experience switching from one "diet" to another, intentionally and frequently?

Sorry, I know the title is confusing. Wasn't sure how to put all of this into one simple sentence. Also, I know the whole "don't look at it like a diet, look at it as a lifestyle change" thing - diet was the easier word there.

I've been obese almost my entire life (I'm 38m). I've successfully lost 40-50 pounds on three separate occasions, but always gained it all back. I've lost 20-30 pounds and gained it all back more times than I can count. (for reference, I probably have somewhere between 100-130 pounds to lose, from where I am now).

I realized that a contribution to my struggles is that I eventually get bored with whatever methods I try, and I have not been able to develop the discipline to not fall back into bad habits. I'm all-in and excited at first, and that's why I so frequently lose 20+ pounds, but I eventually get bored, or frustrated, or whatever, and go back to my old ways.

I'm thinking of trying something like this, and wondering if anyone has ever tried anything like it: I would start with one method (e.g. intermittent fasting), and see that initial success. But then, at the first sign that i'm starting to lose interest and/or struggle, I switch to something different (e.g. keto). The idea would be that as soon as I get bored, I try something new that keeps my attention for a while, and I see success with. Then when I get bored again, I switch to a third method.

I'd love to hear any experience and/or just thoughts about why this may be a good or terrible idea.

Thanks!

Edited to add: I don’t know how I neglected to leave this out: I’ve actually never tried any of the fad diets. All of my previous losses have been CICO with activity.

My issue is widely a discipline one. It’s one I’ve been working on for a long time (therapy and all), but it’s still a major challenge for me. The idea of switching from one to another is because I tend to be able to be disciplined when things are new. I’m wondering if I could capitalize on the small bit of time when I am more likely to succeed.

Thanks!
