Well I finally hit bottom a few days ago I am on insulin at 35 made my own lifting routine will it help me reach my goals on a new diet and change of lifestyle? I weigh 340 and need it off asap I am determined!

Well I currently weigh 340 and have recently been diagnosed with diabetes I now take insulin every night before bed, I tried several attempts in the past to knock the weight off with youtube workout videos and 45 minutes on the elliptical but I could never maintain it.

So right now I am going to focus on lifting and diet I am slowly making changes to my eating habits I cut alcohol sugar and slowly bread I don't drink sugary drinks so I am ok in that department.

So I am trying to stick to 2,500 calories a day I hit that pretty good for the most part, but I am wondering how effective will my lifting routine will be on a good healthy diet, I lift very small weight I am a big guy but am very weak here is what my lifting routine looks like.

Squat 7x5 75lbs

Floor Press 5x5 55lbs

Over Head press 5x5 50lbs

Then I usually curl 30lbs to failure to close out the workout.

I will do this routine 4 days a week it usually takes me 25-35 minutes to complete

Will this workout regiment get me to my goal of 140 pounds lost?

Thanks
