I’ve eaten either Chipotle, Taco Bell, or McDonald’s every day for the past 3 weeks, and today was my first day of making healthier choices. I committed to eating more veggies and fruits while cutting out pop and bread to start out. I argued with myself today for about an hour, trying to justify eating Taco Bell but also telling myself that I believe in my ability to make good choices. I could tell my stomach wanted it, but the small amount of satisfaction wasn’t worth the guilt for not even making it a day without it.
This may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but I’ve been a slave to junk food my entire life. Today I wasn’t, and that gives me hope that maybe I can do this.
