Losing (and gaining) weight feels much simpler when you regain control of your body.

With the help of this sub, 2.5 years ago i went from 200lbs fat to 157 lbs (-43lbs) (the bare healthy minimum for a man my age and height) within a couple months. Then, i started my journey to get fit. I started bulking and doing weights at the gym,but I overcompensated and ate far, far too much (like, 4000 kcal per day too much. Thanks college cafeteria!). I gained back a lot of weight doing so. So I cut some vices from my diet and added more running to my routine. Eventually I lost some fat again, and I decided to bulk up again to get more fit for sports (quidditch!) I'm back at 200lbs now, but I can tell it's mostly muscle, with a little bit of pudge. And that's okay! I feel good in my body and feel healthy, strong and in control. Knowing the difficulty I had losing the initial weight, it feels like the absolute worst of it is over, and it feels like my cravings and insecurities, once like an impatient and energetic dog bolting all over the place, are now trained and calm. I'm not special. You can do it too. And many people have.
