How to lose weight as a teen?

Right off the bat I don’t want any shit about how I should be confortable with my body and I’m going through a period of time where everyone has insecurities. I’m recognizing a problem within my health that could bring me issues later in life and I want to fix it. I’m six foot three, fourteen years old, 230 pounds, and want to lose some weight.

I have terrible self control, like most people when they are unhappy with their weight and I often eat many times too much servings of unhealthy food. I spend most of my day playing video games and struggle to convince myself to exercise.

My diet mainly consist of bread products and snack foods. I don’t eat breakfast, and often make my own lunch. My only real meal of the day is dinner, made by my father. My father also buys the groceries, and he tries to buy things I like, but I often eat so much that whatever he buys becomes unhealthy.

I don’t like working out. I very much dislike cardio, and really struggle to make myself run at home, although I will get an okay seven minute mile in PE because there is a grade incentive. I enjoy playing tennis but only play twice a week, with no real way to practice at home. I tried lifting dumbbells and doing various workouts at home, yet I still struggle to get myself away from the computer and doing something.

Many times when I’m in front of the computer it means I’m eating too, often I make 8+ trips to the kitchen each day spending almost eight hours on screens.

How do I regain control over my life when I’m just a kid?
