Anyone else have that conversation where someone wants to know how you lost weight, but doesn't want to log food?

It usually goes like this:

Them: You look good, how did you lose so much weight? I've been having trouble.

Me: I logged everything I was eating and ate slightly less food than I needed.

At this point they usually adopt "that face". It's hard to describe but it roughly translates to "I want the same results but don't want to log my food".

Them: That sounds difficult.

Me: Not really, there are apps connected to food databases these days. What you eat is probably already in there. If it has a barcode it's even easier.

Them: I've been thinking of cutting out bread, will that help?

Me: I don't know, it depends on what else you're eating.

Them: I heard you need to drink 12 glasses of water can that help you lose weight?

Me: More water can help if you're not getting enough, but not if you're eating too much food otherwise.

Them: Are these protein balls good or bad for me?

Me: You'd need to look at it in context with everything else you're eating

Them: ... you're not much help.
