Wanted to share a small victory

Hi all, I’ve struggled with my weight for pretty much forever. I was fortunate enough to lose a ton of weight around puberty but gained it all back in grad school. After a hectic year, I finally feel comfortable enough to go to the gym regularly and it feels really good to throw around some weights and feel healthy. My weight hasn’t dropped much yet but I’m determined to stay patient because I know from past experience that Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Anyway, today I finally got back to being able to run a mile and I just needed someone to share it with since my workout partner wasn’t at all impressed lol. It wasn’t all that pretty or fast, but I just had to feel proud for a minute that I’m finally inching towards my previous fitness level. I know gradual and consistent progress isn’t super exciting or noteworthy but it’s absolutely necessary for long-term success and hopefully I can follow my own advice on that!

Would love to hear your small victories too!
