Today I had to go in for a consultation for my hand. I've been having a lot of issues with my tendon in my pinkie hurting and they are considering surgery, and so I went in to meet the surgeon and go over all of my options.
I get to the office and it's business as usual, he's checking my hands in various stretches and positions and then he starts asking me about my health background
Him: "Do you have a history of diabetes?"
Me: "Nope!"
Him: "So you lead a generally healthy lifestyle?"
Me: "Yeah, in the past year I've lost close to 50 pounds, so I would consider my lifestyle healthy"
Him: "Really? You just look like such a normal skinny girl, I never would have guessed."
Y'ALL. When I tell you I almost cried in that office. A fucking DOCTOR looked at me and said I look both normal and skinny. I've been beating myself up because I've only just transitioned to being not obese on the BMI scale and have a ways to go before I finally reach the healthy score, but I got an absolute boost in my confidence today, which I will now take into the rest of my week.
Have a good ass week everyone!
