Stats: I’m a 34 M, began this year at 96kg, am now 83kg and counting.
As I’ve lost weight I’ve noticed the obvious thing about my clothes: they’re baggy and make me look bigger, they sag and look pretty unflattering. But I’ve noticed something else too.
My clothes were all very, hmm, brash. They weren’t garish but they were all either extremely colourful or would be eye catching black graphic tees - a bit larger than life.
Looking at myself in them now I feel so conspicuous and over the top. I’ve switched to newer clothes (in medium size for the first ever time) but all in a much less OTT style. They’re more muted and plain.
I wondered if anyone else had gone through this.
You know, when I was big - I felt so invisible and ugly. I wore these really unusual clothes to stand out and feel great. I don’t feel I need that any longer.
