I want to cut out sugar but I feel extremely intimidated. How do you do it… cold turkey? Gradually? Has anyone actually trained themselves to have sugar items in the house but to only have a single serving and not go into addict binge mode at the sight of cookies, cake? Did you cut out all sugar like even jarred spaghetti sauce has sugar in it? Or only the obvious culprits? Do you still have a treat that has sugar … ever? Do you use artificial sweeteners as substitutes?
I just do not trust myself around sweets. I behave like a sugar addicted child who has been left unsupervised. I have no will power in the face of sweet stuff. I bought gluten free/dairy free ice creams that are expensive and only come 3 in the box… I ate all 3 in one day. It’s like I can’t help myself and it is embarrassing, even just to myself. I will keep thinking about it until I give in. So I think I need to just not have time it at all :( artificial sweeteners upset my digestive system, at-least the ones I have tried. I would love any advice. I am tired of having these run-ins with sugar and always feeling ashamed that I can’t control myself.
