Lost 60-66 kg / 132-145 lbs in one year (out of which ~42 kg in the last 8 months)
16/M/6'4 Previous weight: 174-180 kg -> Current weight: ~114 kg
I've been overweight for most of my life and about a year ago i started having quite a few issues because my weight was getting worse and worse. I would get pretty tired just walking, especially walking up hill, i started having discomfort in my lower back, and i would start sweating if i had to talk to people because of social anxiety caused by self isolation and lack of confidence.
I lost my first bit of weight after i started drinking only sparkling water instead of sugary drinks, and stopped eating sweets almost completely (with very rare exceptions).
Honestly i kind of forgot about why i stopped having that stuff and just kind of got addicted to sparkling water and forgot / stopped caring about sweets.
I'm not sure how much weight i lost during that phase but it was a considerable amount.
a while later while keeping the same healthier habits, I went on a keto diet (I was kind of doing that already to a degree by cutting out sugary drinks and sweets, but this time i cut out carbs completely)
I did that for about a month, until i started getting a "keto rash" on my back, chest and up my neck.
I already knew that this could and would most probably happen, but i still quit knowing it was probably not the healthiest way to lose weight, for me at least.
During those two phases i had lost ~20 kg or more. (in ~4 months)
What I did next is what helped me lose the most weight. I went on a calorie deficit diet in which i used an app to track my calorie intake, and also my Macronutrient ratio.
I weighed everything i would eat to the last gram. now something that helped me a lot was my mom cooking most of my meals while i took care of weighing and putting everything into the app, and I can't thank her enough.
With this i lost ~42 kg in ~8 months. Making the total of weight lost ~60+ kg in ~1 year.
