What was the difference the time that worked? + Mindset help

I know almost everyone has to start over more than once before they find what works for them or makes it stick, so I'm wondering how many times that was for you before you were successful (whatever that means to you) and what you did differently the time that worked. I know that will be different for everyone, but I'm curious!

I'm (35F/150cm - 4'11"/CW132lbs) two months into my journey and have been plateaued for about a month (with four pounds lost) because I've been having trouble sticking to CICO -- just emotionally eating and health problems making it hard for me to workout. I know it's truly a mental issue for me, so was that a big part of the shift that worked for you? What are your best tricks for not giving in to emotional eating/feeling hungry/not full, when you know you've eaten and don't need to? I've read all the sub's pinned compendium stuff already. I'm not discouraged, just struggling. Glad to have plateaued instead of gained back!
