Is anyone able to offer advice?

Hello I'm pretty new here and excited about this journey I'm on. To give a little back story, I'm a Marine Veteran whom honorably got out in 2016. I went straight back to college full time, and with a job full time. Eating habits became bad. Relationships caused alot of depression. I just kinda ate everything away. This caused me to develop some nasty habits. I took a semester off and focused on getting back on track. I went from 220 lbs with lots of muscle and some fat to 200 lbs at 23% body fat. I maintained this weight for 4 years until February 2020. I was gaining about 8lbs~12lbs a month, my body started losing muscle like it was cool. About 5 months in my doctor finally figured out what was going on. I had a very severe case of thyroid disease and its now under control. My body wasn't reacting well to certain medicines but my hormones got under control. Well now I'm trying to get back to a normal weight and gain some muscle but lifting even 20 lbs is sometimes a challenge now. I love the gym but this is a new and challenging experience being this atrophied and over weight and trying to work out. I'm on the Nutrisystem diet since I've heard it works pretty well! I currently go to the gym 6 times a week. But my body recovery is near 3 days after that location was exercised. Stiffness has occurred even with stretching daily and it hurts alot. I'm logging all my foods, water, and exercise. I've been using Jeffit to keep track of my exercises and could use some advice on a workout regime for fat loss+ muscle gain for people who are very weak and still getting healthy. My daily intake is around 1600~1800 calories a day. Getting 4 servings of veggies. Drinking minimum 64 fl oz of water a day. As well as taking thermogenics (Hydroxycut hard-core elite). Is there anything you guys/gals can recommend in order to make this process a bit smoother? I'm willing and doing my best to put the effort in. In one week so far I've lost 5.6 lbs, 1.3% body fat. I just don't want to hurt my body more in the process knowing I'm not able to do things I use to. Do you recommend lower weights higher reps or higher weight lower reps? My current weight is 265 and I'm 5'11". Every ounce of me is ashamed of what I've become and I'm trying everything I can to change that. I look forward to reading your replies and the motivational progress of others on here. Thanks for taking the time to read this. P.S. if you use jeffit, please share your workout routine with me!!!!
